The Asbury Park Press has reported that the Belmar Police Department is actively searching for an individual that fled the scene after striking two pedestrians on E Street near 15th avenue shortly before 1:30 am. The individual they believe was driving a silver colored Cadillac Escalade. The two individuals that were struck by the driver were rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment. Although specifics about the injuries have been released, it has been reported that injuries are of the serious nature.
